Vacation Part 2

We made it to our house in Corolla, NC yesterday and though we did hit some traffic now and then, overall we made very good time arriving around 2:00 PM. Although the house wasn’t available until 4:00 PM we made use of the community pool until then; great way to relax after being in the car for 8 hours.

Our friends Gil, Kim, Kim’s mom Phyllis and their 2 kids made it down here about 5:45 PM just in time to help with getting a big spaghetti dinner onto the table. After stuffing out bellies (yeah you’re right Dr. Atkins is “tsk, tsking” me) we sat around playing with the kids and just relaxing. I whipped up a blender full of Amaretto sours on the rocks for Kim and I while Gil sipped his normal Black Russian. My wife being allergic to alcohol stuck to her lemonade. Note: have to learn how to make a non-alcoholic Strawberry Shortcake.

After Kim and Gils kids (1 and 4 years old) went to bed, Gil whipped out his Xbox for a bit of fun. My son and daughter put a serious spanking on both of us while playing Gotham.

Having a great time at camp Hiawatha wish you could all be here – what a blogging riot that would be. Just have to find a house with broadband next year. :-)

Vacation

Tis time to take leave from the work-a-day world and recharge the old batteries.
We’re heading back down to Corolla, NC on the Outer Banks which is where we went for the first time last summer. We’re renting a house on the sound side that has its own pool which, again, is what we did last year. While I’m not a big fan of the beach I have to say that it was the most relaxing vacation I’ve ever had. First time I’ve come back from a vacation feeling like I didn’t have to take another one. :-)

This year we have invited friends of ours to come down with us which should really add to the fun. Gil and I have been tag team teaching Sunday School for over 8 years and Kim and my wife have been best friends for over 15 years.

Doubt I’ll be doing any blogging till I get back (not like I do a whole lot to begin with) so until then, be safe and God bless all of you.

Up & Down, Up & Down

Seems like every 30 minutes this site is up and then back down again. I’m hosted by Surpass, but if something doesn’t get straightened out – pronto, I won’t be for much longer.

Just had to vent…
