An 11-year old boy and two adults were injured in an accident on Route 10 in Glen Burnie at 10 a.m. yesterday, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department and state police.

John Clayton Dick Jr., 39, of the 8200 block of Old Mill Road in Pasadena and Jody Renee Hudson, 37, of Silver Spring were taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, police said. Dick was in critical condition last night, and Hudson was in serious condition. The boy, whose name was withheld, was taken to Johns Hopkins Children’s Center and was in critical condition, police said,

The boy and one of the adults were changing a tire on the side of southbound Route 10 near Glen Burnie when a Honda Accord swerved and hit them, police said.

The man and his 11 year old son are the uncle and cousin of a co-worker. They have both had to have one leg amputated and the boy may also need the other removed. The boy is heavily sedated and doesn’t realize his present condition. I understand that the father is doing better and given the situation is in rather good spirits. The spiritual, physical and financial ramifications of this tradgedy are going to be felt for a very long time. Please add this family to your prayers.
