This is just a quick post that I created using Zoundry Blog Writer. I’m still trying to figure out what this application is other than a Windows based application that will upload a post to your blog. My initial (first 5 minutes) critique is that it’s very nice. Setup was beyond painless and took less than 10 minutes, including the 6 MB file download (heh I’m on a T1 line at the office!).
Here is where I’m stopping to test actually posting this up to my blog. I will then try to edit it.
Well it certainly does appear to work, as I can easily re-edit the post numerous times.
So what’s the deal with Zoundry? According to it’s creators they wanted to provide an easy way for bloggers to create the links used for affiliate marketing. I’m not interested in having my blog generate revenue for me, but from a technical stand point it’s certainly interesting. In simple speak – I have a post talking about the new Nikon D50 my wife and I purchased this year and what fun we’ve had using it to take pictures of our 2 Greyhounds. Using “product finder” button I highlight the word “Nikon D50″ and a pop-up window starts searching sites like Amazon.com to see if it’s available. If it is it creates a link on my site to the product. Clicking on that link and purchasing that item would give me a partial credit for having directed you to that purchase from my site.
For a free application, I didn’t even have to register to download it, it’s well worth the effort. Give it a try. And if you’re not interested in that you may want to look into this set of Ginsu Knives.
