Trainee to Airman
The wife and I traveled to Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX this past Thursday to see our son graduate from BMT (basic military training). We had a great time getting to see him and the other airmen in his wing. Sure brought back a lot of memories from when I went to boot camp 26 years ago.
Nate was supposed to be heading to Keesler AFB Monday morning at 0001 hrs. for his technical training school, but due to hurricane Gustav that facility had a mandatory lockdown and evacuation of non essential personnel. He will most likely be heading down there today or tomorrow to help out with humanitarian aid as his school wasn’t scheduled to start for 2 weeks.

To all of our friends and family, I want to thank you for all of the cards and letters of encouragement that you sent to him over these past 6 weeks. They were an incredible moral booster!
